How do I install EMMTRY?
Our devices connect to your existing electric lock, gate motor, or garage opener. Simply wire the relay to your lock's control circuit—no modifications to the lock itself. Most installations take under 30 minutes. We provide step-by-step guides and video tutorials.
Do guests need to install an app?
No. Guests receive access via a secure email link—no app, no account, no password needed. They simply tap the link to unlock. For members who want the full experience, our iOS app uses passwordless sign-in with a one-time code sent to their email.
Can tenants manage their own guest access?
Yes! Create a 'Tenant Unit' for each apartment or villa and assign the tenant as manager. They can then invite their own guests who get access to the shared gates—without you having to be involved. You retain full control and can see all access logs.
What happens if the internet goes down?
The 5G device has cellular backup and can also operate via Bluetooth when nearby. WiFi and Ethernet devices will reconnect automatically when service is restored. Access logs are synced once connectivity returns.
Do I need to buy Shelly devices from EMMTRY?
No. You can purchase Shelly devices directly from shelly.com, Amazon, or any authorized reseller. Already have Shelly devices? They work too! Just connect them to the EMMTRY platform and start managing access. We support Shelly 1, Shelly 1PM, Shelly 2PM, Shelly 1 Mini, Shelly 1PM Mini, Shelly Pro 1, Shelly Pro 1PM, Shelly Pro 2, and Shelly Pro 2PM. You can also add Shelly BLU sensors like the BLU Door/Window and BLU H&T to monitor door status, temperature, and humidity—enhancing your access management experience.
Are there monthly fees?
No recurring fees for the platform. You pay once for the hardware. The 5G device includes 10 years of cellular connectivity. Only optional add-ons like advanced integrations have additional costs.
